About the wing

  • It was established in 1992 to qualify officers of JAf and other Jordanian security Services in Turkish Language.
  • The 23- week Basic Turkish Language Course is held at the wing twice every year.

The Curriculum

  • The Turkish curriculum is very advanced, and it’s almost similar to the one used in Turkey.
  • CDs, VCRs, and other audio-visual material are used as training aids. 
  • Military terminology Pamphlet.

The qualifying courses for instructors

  • Jordanian instructors receive their basic training in Turkish at the Military Language Institute.
  • Instructors also attend Language qualifying courses in Turkey.

Participants and teaching Methodology  

  • Officers of Jordan Armed Forces and Security Services.
  •  Participants receive all the required proficiency training in the language four basic skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Cooperation with the Turkish side

  • There is a huge cooperation between the Military Language Institute and the following:
  • The Turkish Military attaché office.
  • The Turkish Cultural Center.
  • The Instructor exchange program.
  • A very advanced and modern language lab is available at the wing. The lab is equipped with books, dictionaries, Cds , and other training aids for learning Turkey.

Tests and assessments

  • Tests focus on evaluating students’ achievement of basic language skills.
  • Language comprehension level of the participants is measured through listening and reading tests, pop quizzes and oral proficiency interviews.
  • Tests and assessments at the wing are similar to testes used by the Turkish language center ( TÖmer).
