Tests are considered one of the main parameters that measure the quality of training and ensure that the objectives of training are met. Tests are being modernized and modified to ensure test validity, suitability and reliability . The LI takes every step necessary to keep up with the latest testing techniques and therefore, computerized testing  adopted recently, has been a substantial  leap toward improving  the mechanism of evaluation and testing techniques.

The examination system of the LI is devided into three main categories, in which each category dictates a specific purpose:

1. Testing to prove the language eligibilty for participating in different activities in the respective hosting country. For example ECL and  IELTS for English.

2. Testing to prove the language ability and readiness for participating in language courses held at the LI.

3. Testing to measure the language improvement of the participants in the courses being held at the LI

Test Computerization (English language only)

Since 2012, the LI has applied computer assisted test program. All tests items were revised and classified according to their language structure and type. Invalid questions were elininated or modified. The program has been going so efficiently through which more individuals can be tested with ultimated integrity and accuracey. The program enables the random cluster of questions for each examinee to guarantee test integrity.

Stages of Test Computerization:

  • Establishment of the database (5000 listening and reading questions)
  • Classification of test questions (basic / intermediate /advanced)
  • Elimination of invalid questions

Purposes of test computerization:

  • Accuracy and Integrity of test results
  • economy of effort and resources .
  • Auto- test correction
  • catagorizing test level  with respect to the examinee's level .
  • Creating infinite test versions to avoid repetition and maintain test integrity.
